Seems like a seasonally appropriate time to dig out these old photos. I made some flannel pajamas for a store sample, back when I was teaching a class at a local quilt store.
I decided that the red and white stripes were just kind of meh cut on a true 45 degree bias. So I chose to cheat the bias and cut on about a 20 degree angle instead, which gave it a much better candy cane spiral.
And, yes, I matched stripes when I stitched all the pieces into one long strip before adding the tiny cotton cording - because why not make it more complicated?

We broke for lunch and then came back with a portal ac unit plugged in to an extention cord from the house. Can't wait until they finished hooking up all the electrical and we have the mini split cooling the room for us - it was stupid humid today! #SewingStudioBuild

I finally finished the patchwork jeans! @SewBrooke , the elastic in the waistband suggestion worked brilliantly. I ended up taking it as close to the button/buttonholes as I could, because the waistband I originally picked had the buttons on the wrong side and I had to piece it together/the second waistband was also collapsed in from wear. I really don’t know why, I checked against all of my jeans and I did put the fly on the correct side! Anyway, it’s done, and I’ll be happy to come up with a project that takes much less time. After I clean up the leftover bits— it looks like I used 7 pairs of jeans/shorts, so I have a lot of tops and leftover leg/waistband scraps!
