I opened all the new packs of silamide we ordered for work and prepped the skeins so they're all ready to use whenever we need them.
I didn't think to take any photos of the process, but the bottoms of the cardboard sleeves tear off along a perforated line. Then you have to cut through the entire skein (it's a giant length all loosely wrapped in a circle around the inner cardboard) and rip out the two knotted cross threads holding it all together like hairbands.
Once it's all cut and prepped, you can pull one long strand out at a time and use it to handsew.
I spent the day priming things for paint and then I remembered to shoot a quick video. #SewingStudioBuild
I started cutting all the edges while Janet was away yesterday morning. When she got back after lunch, she pulled out a roller and started filling in. I'll put a pic below in the comments. #SewingStudioBuild
We broke for lunch and then came back with a portal ac unit plugged in to an extention cord from the house. Can't wait until they finished hooking up all the electrical and we have the mini split cooling the room for us - it was stupid humid today! #SewingStudioBuild

I'm kind of surprised I have to sign up for emails (not sure if I want to yet) considering how many companies sell email lists.
I finally finished the patchwork jeans! @SewBrooke , the elastic in the waistband suggestion worked brilliantly. I ended up taking it as close to the button/buttonholes as I could, because the waistband I originally picked had the buttons on the wrong side and I had to piece it together/the second waistband was also collapsed in from wear. I really don’t know why, I checked against all of my jeans and I did put the fly on the correct side! Anyway, it’s done, and I’ll be happy to come up with a project that takes much less time. After I clean up the leftover bits— it looks like I used 7 pairs of jeans/shorts, so I have a lot of tops and leftover leg/waistband scraps!
