If you need/want any faux fur for any upcoming projects, now is the time to buy it! My JoAnn Fabrics has tons! I was slightly tempted by a couple of them, but can't think of anything might need it for (especially since I still have my hot pink fur coat to finish which has been sitting unfinished for probably 2 years now).

We broke for lunch and then came back with a portal ac unit plugged in to an extention cord from the house. Can't wait until they finished hooking up all the electrical and we have the mini split cooling the room for us - it was stupid humid today! #SewingStudioBuild
Patchwork jeans progress. I’ve gotten a second row on the front, and am piecing together a second row for the back. I’m debating here whether I should go back and topstitch these patches down as I go, especially for the back where I’m having to use multiple pieces to get the width. (The seams on the original denim pieces here were sooo diagonal, I had to straighten them out some.) If so, I’m not sure which color, since I’ve seen at least 3 different colors of topstitching on the seamed pieces I’m using in front. I think that will need something, since that gap between the pocket and the next seam is looking a bit wonky. So I haven’t actually stitched down the back pieces yet while I consider this. It looks like adding the back pockets will give a great effect, though.
I decided to flatline the silk charmeuse to the poly satin lining for all the giant skirt pieces. It's a lot of extra prepwork, but I think it will save us a bunch of grief in the end. Using the wrong fabric for a project is always a pain.
I rolled out the poly satin and then rolled the charmeuse on top, wrong sides together. Then I traced the pattern pieces, pinned the layers together, cut, and hand basted together - all before moving the pieces.
The charmeuse is a little wrinkly from the roll (and I think we forgot to stream pre-shrink this one) but I'm over it and this dress gets a matching lilac satin faced organza overlay anyway, so I'm just going with it.

I've been cutting lots of big skirt pieces and haven't really remembered to take many photos because nothing is all that interesting to look at. I think I have 4 more skirts and 3 more skirt linings to cut. (I've been putting off the narrow charmeuse ones until the end because ugh.)
So here are a few pics I did take. The long paper pattern that's hanging off the cutting table is the pattern I adapted from the 1954 vintage pattern. I can't wait to see how that mockup looks when it's sewn.
