Janet and I had fittings in Tyler for Rose Festival dresses last Thursday, and since we had to stay through Saturday afternoon to pick up petticoats after rehearsal was over, we rented a house on a lake nearby for four nights. It was a really nice place to stay - if only it hadn't been 106° most days!
We walked down to the boat dock for a few minutes two of the nights, but I mostly just enjoyed the view through the window.
Fittings went pretty well. They were just unnecessarily frantic because we only had the designer there for 30 minutes for each dress. I'm glad all that is over!
I spent the day priming things for paint and then I remembered to shoot a quick video. #SewingStudioBuild
I started cutting all the edges while Janet was away yesterday morning. When she got back after lunch, she pulled out a roller and started filling in. I'll put a pic below in the comments. #SewingStudioBuild
We broke for lunch and then came back with a portal ac unit plugged in to an extention cord from the house. Can't wait until they finished hooking up all the electrical and we have the mini split cooling the room for us - it was stupid humid today! #SewingStudioBuild

I'm kind of surprised I have to sign up for emails (not sure if I want to yet) considering how many companies sell email lists.
I finally finished the patchwork jeans! @SewBrooke , the elastic in the waistband suggestion worked brilliantly. I ended up taking it as close to the button/buttonholes as I could, because the waistband I originally picked had the buttons on the wrong side and I had to piece it together/the second waistband was also collapsed in from wear. I really don’t know why, I checked against all of my jeans and I did put the fly on the correct side! Anyway, it’s done, and I’ll be happy to come up with a project that takes much less time. After I clean up the leftover bits— it looks like I used 7 pairs of jeans/shorts, so I have a lot of tops and leftover leg/waistband scraps!
